SOLUX Solar lanterns
SOLUX solar lanterns are designed for every day use in developing coutries. Operating of SOLUX lanterns is very easy. During the day, the photovoltaic module, which is normally mounted on the roof, is plugged into the lamp so that the energy collected is stored in the batteries. In the evening the module is unplugged from the lamp and then used for lighting. We offer the following types

Background information to SOLUX
The Solux program was initiated by SOLUX e.V. (Germany) in collaboration with many partners in national, international, charitable and church organisations who have managed to set up and equip workshops and also promote the use of Solux Solar lamps in developing countries. The Solux kit is supplied as components in various workshops where they are put up. In Kenya, they are assembled only in the Hensolex Limited workshop in Gilgil town.

Special attention was paid to ensure that the Solux kit could be assembled easily by trained personnel using simple tools. The lamps are designed to meet practical requirements; they are robust and can be repaired locally in contrast to products manufactured in developed countries. All the components were designed in such a way that the system has a service life of an average of ten years, even under difficult tropical conditions and with rough handling (Exception: New batteries are needed after about 5 Years).
The assembly of the solux lighting kit is done by qualified technicians and the local assembly line utilizes the same advanced technology, machinery and processes as those of SOLUX e.V.
The locally assembled modules are also certified to be the same quality as those produced by SOLUX e.V..
All the assembled lamps and panels are thoroughly checked before leaving Hensolex to ensure durability and reliability. We can proudly confess that it is the only solar lantern with a strong after sales service set up. All spare parts are readily available.
